Can’t Adopt a Dog? Here’s How Else You Can Help:

  • Donate Items: Rescues are always in need of resources. Any unwanted collars, leashes, toys, beds, blankets, etc. your dog doesn’t use anymore would be greatly appreciated by a rescue. Many Shelters even have wish lists posted on their websites of items they need.
  • Foster: Many dogs struggle in the atmosphere of a shelter, they need a home setting to be able to truly acclimate and be themselves. Fostering dogs is an amazing way to help a dog get adopted quicker. If you’re not able to foster, many rescues offer “dog day outs” or “sleepovers”. This gives people the opportunity to give a dog a break from the shelter for a day of fun!
  • Volunteer Your Time: Many places need help from volunteers to care for their dogs. You can sign up to help transport animals is desperate situations such as disaster relief and over crowded shelters. F.U.R. is always looking for transport volunteers. To sign up click here.
  • Network: If you see a rescue dog in need, spread the word! Share social media posts on Instagram and Facebook to help dogs find homes, increase donations, and get the support that they need! Take photos of adoptable pets and share them with your friends!
